JDA was founded by Mr Julius Newman who was concerned there was no proper Jewish Deaf Club for Jewish Deaf People to share their Jewish faith and culture. Mr Newman with Miss H. Schlesinger and other supported rented two adjoining houses in Cazenove Road, Stamford Hill, London. Later the houses were bought outright and had been altered to make into a proper club house.
31 March 1992, the first JDA Advisory and Resource Centre was opened in Cazenove Road.
