WOJD had its own first Congress in Israel in 1977. The aim of WOJD is to bring all Jewish Deaf people from all over the world to meet together, discuss and preserve their identity and culture. They had five Congresses in Israel, France and UK, every four years.
The last Congress was in London, UK in July 1995.
